1833 -Charles Babbage began work on the Analytical Engine.
He was, Known to some as the "Father of Computing" for his contributions to the basic design of the computer through his Analytical machine.

1950s – Computers where first commercially produced by IBM
IBM computer often cost as much as $9 million and required an air-conditioned quarter-acre of space and a staff of 60 people to keep it fully loaded with instructions.

1974 -Researchers at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center designed the Alto — the first work station with a built-in mouse for input. (see picture below)
